127-day Villa Vie Odyssey in South America from Dec 18, 2024: vibrant cultures, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable experiences await.
My partner and I Barbara are quite active, though at 82 he's starting to slow down a bit, while Iβm 60 and still ready to explore. He's comfortable with me doing some activities on my own, and we often enjoy light walking with breaks. When we visit a new city, we like to start with hop-on, hop-off buses if theyβre available, as they let us get a good overview without too much walking. Good food and wine are a big part of our travel experience, and weβre especially eager to try authentic local cuisine enjoyed by localsβnot tourist traps. Weβre also hoping to visit wineries to sample and purchase regional wines. UNESCO World Heritage Sites are high on our list, especially those that are conveniently located or offer cruise pick-up options. As scuba divers, we love the ocean but prefer diving in warm waters. Weβre also looking for unique experiences that capture the essence of each destination, including must-do and must-see attractions. Iβm interested in cooking classes and crafts, and would love to learn from local artisans. Additionally, if there are festivals or special events as we cruise, we wouldnβt want to miss the chance to experience these moments firsthand. Cruising is truly my dream come true, as Iβve enjoyed over 70 cruises to date. Both of us speak multiple languagesβEnglish, German, Polish, Italian, French, and some Spanish, with a bit of Russian and Chineseβand we hope to practice and improve them wherever we go.
